Are you interested in dog DIYs? Even if you’re not, this post is exciting because it’s about a statement dog sweater with autumn leaves. It’s an absolute dog couture piece that I’ve never seen before. And the best thing about it is that you can make it yourself, and you can do it too!
Dog DIYs for dog moms
Become a dog fashion designer for your dog! You don’t need to be able to sew or knit. I’ll show you how to do it step by step on YouTube, and at the end, I promise you, you’ll be able to sew and knit. Then it won’t just be one dog sweater; you’ll make lots of them in all colors, and you can also be creative with the design! For our dog sweater with autumn leaves, you need two different DIYs that I’ll link to here. Firstly, you have to knit a dog sweater. You can, of course, also buy one. For our autumn leaves dog sweater, I used burgundy-colored wool, which is currently very trendy. I thought the color suited autumn and matched the garland I bought in the decoration store.
In the second DIY, I’ll show you how to put the autumn leaves from the garland onto the sweater. It’s easy, and I’ll show you step by step. Afterward, you can see the finished dog sweater in motion and in daylight because our favorite dog model, Burberry Balenciaga, is kind enough to present the sweater professionally (in exchange for countless dog treats).
Dog sweater with autumn leaves
My miniature poodle Burberry Balenciaga is a true dog fashionista. Her wardrobe is already bursting at the seams, and the crazy poodle mom (me) sews, knits, and buys more and more. So there is no shortage of dog clothes and accessories. We have a huge selection and could wear something completely new every day of the year and still not repeat ourselves.
But I think everyone needs that one statement piece in their wardrobe. Of course, the whole thing can be topped off with several statement pieces (build up your anticipation; an absolute highlight awaits you after Christmas, but before New Year’s Eve!). Burberry already has evening dresses, an excellent unicorn costume, Halloween outfits, and a giant Christmas wardrobe. But we were missing that one autumn eye-catcher that everyone would envy us for.
It looks like a lot, but it isn’t. It is a normal dog sweater with the pattern from the Cashmere Forever collection by Momoselle, so it is super comfortable and flexible. The leaves are made of thin fabric. I sewed them all on individually so that the elasticity of the dog sweater was not lost. All in all, it is a real eye-catcher in dog fashion that is really worth copying and is also super easy!
